Who is leading and managing the Capital Campaign?

The Campaign is being led by the Campaign Chairs, Mark and Katie Roeder and Steve and Jennifer Burns, along with the Campaign Committee. The Campaign Committee is a committed group of school parents, parishioners, and friends of St. Aloysius with the collaborative guidance of Father Don McCarthy, our pastor, who will lead, guide and provide proven expertise.

Why is this Capital Campaign necessary?

This Campaign is necessary in order to respond to the changing needs of our parish and school community.  The parish has a deficit due to the change in the 2006 parish festival to accommodate the renovations to the school, a decline in school enrollment and a sizeable increase in health care costs for faculty and staff.  As a key component in the implementation of the Campaign we seek to unite this community in positioning St. Aloysius (Pre-K -8) for a bright and financially viable future.

What is the goal of the campaign?

The goal of the project is $200,000.00. We hope to raise these funds through the Capital Campaign, seeking to involve all those who care about the future of St. Aloysius on-the-Ohio School.

What is the money going to be used for?

The money will be used for operating costs to promote and support the financial stability of the school.

Who will be asked to give to the Campaign?

We hope that our school families, parishioners, businesses, alumni, past parents, grandparents and friends will give. We understand that everyone is not as financially fortunate as others.  Every gift, no matter how small, is both appreciated and needed.

What if we don’t reach our goal?

The Campaign Committee is committed to raising the necessary funds.  We will prioritize our needs and continue to seek funds to reach our goal over an extended period of time.

How will I benefit by contributing to the Campaign?

As a member of the St. Aloysius on-the-Ohio School family, your contribution to the Capital Campaign will allow you to play a vital role in assuring that we embody the mission of the church and school. Your investment in the future of St. Aloysius will ensure your fulfillment of knowing that you have given back to God a grateful portion from the many gifts that you have been blessed with. Your contribution will also assure that St. Aloysius School maintains a quality Catholic school environment-one that will proudly serve our school mission.  All gifts are tax deductible.

Is my contribution confidential?

Yes. Only the Campaign office will have a record of your contribution.

You may choose to be listed as a donor or remain anonymous.

How will parishioners and families be informed as the Campaign progresses?

On a consistent basis, all involved will be kept informed through the church bulletin, the school newsletter, school PTO meetings and information via our website: www.saoto.org

Who raises the money?

We all do! Campaign leaders, parents, parishioners, alumni, business leaders, past parents, friends, faculty & staff. We are all responsible for the success of this campaign.

How and when are we to make pledge payments?

You will make your payments directly to the parish:

Bridge to Our Future Campaign

St. Aloysius on the Ohio Parish

134 Whipple Street

Cincinnati, Ohio 45233

(513) 941-3445 ext. 17

When do I start paying my pledge and will I receive reminders?

Our hope is that most people will make their pledge and begin their payments in June.  Many parishioners are making an initial down payment of 10% of their pledge, but this is not required. The Parish office will be handling the tracking of pledge payments and will send out reminders, based on whether you wish to pay monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually.

Can a gift-in-kind be part of my commitment to the project?

Certain gifts-in-kind are acceptable in such a project.  However there are rules that have been established by the Archdiocese for accepting certain gifts-in-kind.  The rules will be researched as the situation arises.  Please contact the Campaign office for more information.

Why are we being asked to consider a two year pledge?

By making pledges over two years, donors can adjust their payment schedules to suit their personal circumstances and allow us to complete the campaign in a timely manner.

Is my pledge in place of my weekly offering or in addition to it?

Pledges to the campaign should be viewed as being above and beyond the weekly offering, which supports the day-to-day operations of the parish. The capital campaign is a special way to meet the needs that cannot be met through the weekly offertory.

If you get more than $200,000.00, how will it be used?

It will be used for financial management, building maintenance, and added enhancements to our existing facilities as well as growth of our reserves.

What happens if we do nothing at all?

If we do nothing to address the needs of this school, we will ignore the concerns of the people and fail to advance our mission. Specifically we will not be able to maintain a quality academic and spiritual environment that we desire for our children at affordable tuition rates.
